Governor of Hadramawt Calls for Elite Forces to Return to Their Camps

The Governor of Hadramawt, Chairman of the Security Committee, and Commander of the “Nation’s Shield” Forces in the province, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, called upon all officers and soldiers of the Hadrami Elite Forces to return immediately to their camps. He stressed that the current phase demands the highest levels of discipline and coordination to preserve the security and stability of the province. This came during an expanded security and military meeting held in the city of Al-Mukalla, attended by military and security leaderships and a representative of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy forces.

The meeting was held in light of recent security and military developments in the province, with the aim of assessing the level of readiness, discussing the status of the Hadrami Elite and Nation’s Shield forces, and enhancing coordination among various military and security formations in the interest of Hadramawt and its security.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of Hadramawt, Ahsen Al-Jilani; Chief of Staff of the Second Military Zone, Brigadier General Salem Ahmed Basaloum; representative of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy forces, Colonel Abdulbari Al-Shahrani; and commander of the Second Brigade of the Nation’s Shield forces, Colonel Fahd Issa Bamomen, alongside leaders of brigades, military, and security units in the coastal and valley regions of Hadramawt.

The meeting discussed updates on the security and military situation, efforts to enhance stability, in addition to reviewing the needs of military and security units, and mechanisms for developing performance and improving the level of coordination and integration among various formations.

In his speech, the Governor of Hadramawt emphasized the importance of unifying efforts and enhancing military discipline, considering the preservation of Hadramawt’s security and stability a top priority and a shared national responsibility that requires high vigilance and teamwork. He praised the pivotal role played by various military and security formations in combating terrorism and protecting the security gains achieved over the past years.

The Governor issued a clear appeal for all members of the Hadrami Elite Forces to return to their units and camps. He stressed the urgency of completing the preparation of the joint operations room for all military and security formations in the province and adopting the principle of competence in appointments, affirming the local authority’s support for anything that enhances the forces’ capabilities and improves the conditions of their personnel.

Al-Khanbashi also expressed his thanks to Saudi Arabia for its continuous support to Hadramawt and its constant concern for its security and stability.

For his part, Brigadier General Salem Ahmed Basaloum confirmed that the command of the Second Military Zone prioritizes enhancing combat readiness and military discipline, recovering looted equipment and weapons, and joint work with various military and security units and formations.

He stressed that the Hadrami Elite Forces are a fundamental pillar of the security apparatus, and that the current and upcoming phases require more coordination and joint work to maintain security and stability.

In turn, the representative of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy forces, Colonel Abdulbari Al-Shahrani, affirmed the keenness of the Saudi leadership to support the security and stability of Hadramawt. He called for turning a new page and the necessity for all forces to be present in their camps, prioritizing the interest and security of Hadramawt over any other interests. He indicated that the Kingdom is working to provide military equipment and supplies, along with training and rehabilitation programs to raise the efficiency of the forces’ personnel.

From his side, the commander of the Second Brigade of the Nation’s Shield forces, Colonel Fahd Issa Bamomen, stressed that military and security work in Hadramawt requires the solidarity of everyone without exception. He affirmed that there is no difference between the Hadrami Elite Forces, Shield of the Homeland, and other military formations, and that arrangements are underway to integrate all forces under a unified command, with the aim of preserving security achievements and rejecting manifestations of racism and division.

Colonel Bamomen praised the steadfastness of the commanders, officers, and soldiers in their positions and their keenness to protect camps and public interests, confirming that Hadramawt will remain a model of security and stability through the solidarity of all its people and its military and security institutions.
