Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Nation’s Shield Forces (Dir’ al-Watan), in cooperation with the Criminal Investigation Department in Al-Mahra Governorate, carried out a specialized security operation on Thursday following directives from the Governor of Al-Mahra, Mohammed Ali Yasser.

Security sources explained that the operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of anti-aircraft ammunition found with a wanted individual who was intercepted at a security checkpoint in the city of Al-Ghaydah.

The suspect, identified by the initials (M.N.M.M.), reportedly resisted attempts to search his private vehicle; however, security forces dealt with him firmly and brought him under control in accordance with legal procedures.

The operation involved undercover investigators under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Security and Director of Criminal Investigation, Brigadier General Ahmed Ali Raafit, and in the presence of Public Prosecution member Abu Bakr al-Qumairi and Chief of the Court of Appeals Prosecution, Judge Hani Fawres.

The search resulted in the confiscation of 14 crates of 23mm anti-aircraft ammunition, along with an unlicensed personal weapon and a sniper scope.

Security authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strictly enforcing the law against all individuals involved in illegal weapons cases and called upon anyone in possession of illegal arms to surrender them voluntarily.
