Governor of Hadramawt Issues Package of Administrative and Military Decisions, Exemptions, and Referrals to Trial

Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, Governor of Hadramawt, Chairman of the Security Committee, and Commander of the Nation’s Shield Forces in the governorate, announced on Wednesday the issuance of significant administrative, military, and security decrees aimed at strengthening security and public order.

Key Administrative and Military Appointments:

  • Decree No. (1) of 2026: Appointed Ahmed Ali Ahmed Al-Khanbashi as Director General of the Office of the Governor of Hadramawt. This decision is effective immediately, canceling any previous appointments.
  • Decree No. (4) of 2026: Tasked Major General Mohammed Omar Al-Yamani as Commander of the Second Military Region, based on presidential authorities and republican decrees.
  • Decree No. (5) of 2026: Tasked Brigadier General Abdulaziz Awadh Al-Jabri as Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Coast.
  • Decree No. (6) of 2026: Tasked Brigadier General Salem Ahmed Basloum as Chief of Staff of the Second Military Region.

Exemptions and Referrals to Military Trial:

Under Decree No. (3) of 2026, which cites the Governor’s full authority as Commander of the Nation’s Shield Forces and relevant military and criminal laws, the following officials were relieved of their duties and referred to military trial:

  1. Major General Talib Said Bargash: (Former) Commander of the Second Military Region.
  2. Brigadier General Faisal Ahmed Badbees: (Former) Commander of Command and Control in the Second Military Region.
  3. Brigadier General Muti’ Said Al-Minhali: (Former) Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Coast.

All decisions are effective from the date of issuance, and relevant authorities have been directed to ensure immediate implementation.
