The Republic of Sudan, as member in the Arab Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, confirmed on Sunday its full support for all the wise efforts and positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the political developments in Yemen.
This affirmation came in a press release issued by the Office of the Official Spokesperson and the Media Department of the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Saturday, January 3.
The statement noted that Sudan’s support includes Saudi Arabia’s response to the recent request submitted by His Excellency the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, regarding holding a comprehensive conference in the city of Riyadh. This conference aims to bring together all Southern components for dialogue to reach peaceful and just solutions for the Southern issue.
In the same context, the Sudanese government called for the necessity of maintaining the security and stability of the Republic of Yemen, encouraging all Yemenis to sit at the negotiating table to reach a peaceful solution that achieves stability for the country.
The statement warned of the dangers of foreign interference which—according to the text—”seeks to tear apart the unity of the Republic of Yemen,” emphasizing the importance of internal solidarity and national dialogue to safeguard Yemeni sovereignty and unity.
