Qatar welcomed the efforts exerted by the legitimate Yemeni government to support the path of Yemeni dialogue and address the Southern Issue. In this context, Qatar praised the request by the Chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council to hold a conference in the city of Riyadh to sit at the dialogue table and discuss just solutions, reflecting his commitment to adopting dialogue as a means to address national issues.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s appreciation for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosting this conference as part of its continuous support for efforts aimed at achieving security and stability in the Republic of Yemen.
The Ministry emphasized the importance of the constructive participation of all Southern components in the planned conference in Riyadh in a manner that prioritizes the interests of the Yemeni people. It stressed the necessity of adhering to the outcomes of the National Dialogue as the consensual framework and comprehensive mechanism for reaching an inclusive political solution that meets the aspirations of all segments of the Yemeni people and preserves Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that unilateral announcements and measures taken without consultation and consensus among Yemeni parties—and without engaging in serious and responsible dialogue—would lead to a slide into chaos, harming the interests of the Yemeni people and undermining the chances of reaching a sustainable political settlement.
The Ministry concluded its statement by affirming Qatar’s full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at advancing the political track, contributing to ending the Yemeni crisis through dialogue and peaceful means, and serving the security and stability of Yemen and the region.
