From the Heart of Al-Mukalla: Yemeni Citizens Renew Support for the Saudi Role in Protecting Hadramawt and Al-Mahra

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

The city of Al-Mukalla today witnessed a peaceful protest in which a number of Yemeni citizens took part, expressing their support for the Saudi intervention in the governorates of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra. They considered it a key factor in safeguarding security and stability and preventing the two governorates from sliding into chaos and armed conflict.

During the protest, participants raised slogans and banners expressing their backing of the Saudi role in restoring normal conditions and containing escalating tensions. They affirmed their categorical rejection of any attempts to drag Hadramawt and Al-Mahra into military conflicts that threaten social peace and undermine local stability.

The protesters pointed out that the Saudi intervention represents— from their perspective— a safety valve for protecting the social fabric, preserving community cohesion, and restoring the security balance amid rapidly unfolding developments on the ground.

The participants also called for empowering civil and security institutions, strengthening the presence of the state and the rule of law, and preventing the eastern governorates from being turned into open arenas of conflict or zones for settling political and military scores.
