Yemeni Parliament: STC Has Rebelled Against the State and Violated All Agreements and References

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Yemeni House of Representatives (Parliament) has warned against the actions of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the governorates of Hadramowt and Al-Mahra, describing them as a “rebellion against the state and a departure from all agreed-upon agreements and references.” The Parliament called on the Council to deal positively with the contents of the statement issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the calls issued by the National Defense Council meeting.
In an official statement, the Parliament emphasized that the use of force and the seizure of military camps and cities represents a departure from the path of national partnership and harms the Southern cause more than it serves it. It stressed that the forces mobilized by the STC should have been directed toward [frontlines near] secure provinces to confront the Houthi militias, restore the state, and protect the lives of Yemenis.
The House of Representatives called on the President of the STC, Aidarus al-Zoubaidi, to prioritize the voice of reason, spare the blood of citizens, preserve public and private property, and place the nation’s interest above all narrow considerations.
The Parliament pointed out that continuing this approach will lead to internal conflict from which only the Houthis will benefit. It underscored the necessity of de-escalation and restoring dialogue and understanding between all parties to maintain the unity of the state and the stability of Yemen.
This follows reports that Saudi aircraft carried out airstrikes on Friday morning targeting various sites in the vicinity of the Nahb camp in the Ghail Bin Yamin district. This action came after field movements by forces affiliated with the STC in the province and their refusal of Saudi calls to cease escalation, withdraw forces from the eastern provinces, and hand them over to the “Nation’s Shield” (Dir’ al-Watan) forces.
