Saudi Journalist Warns of Repercussions from STC’s Occupation of Hadramawt and Al-Mahrah

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Saudi journalist Abdullah Al-Hutailah, Assistant Editor-in-Chief of Okaz newspaper, has drawn attention to the tense situation in Yemen, warning that the Southern Transitional Council (STC) bears significant responsibility for any wars or conflicts that may erupt in the country.

In a series of posts on the X platform, Al-Hutailah said that the STC’s occupation of Hadramawt and Al-Mahrah could have serious repercussions for Yemen’s future. He expressed concern that the country could slide into a scenario similar to Sudan, marked by prolonged conflict and warfare.

He noted that the STC’s rebellion could further exacerbate Yemen’s crises, particularly at a time when the country is already grappling with complex political and security challenges.

Al-Hutailah warned that Yemen may face deeper divisions if the current situation is not handled with wisdom, calling for swift solutions to halt the escalation.

He added that the international community is closely and anxiously monitoring developments in Yemen, especially amid fears that localized conflicts could expand into broader confrontations threatening stability across the entire region.
