Yemeni Ministry of Endowments Designates Specific Laboratories for Pilgrim Medical Exams

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Ministry of Endowments and Guidance, represented by the Hajj and Umrah Sector, has disclosed the list of approved medical laboratories for conducting necessary health examinations for pilgrims of the 1447 AH season, as part of the organizational preparations for the year.

In a circular, the Ministry explained that the accreditation of these laboratories was based on arrangements agreed upon with the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia and in coordination with the Ministry of Public Health and Population to organize health protocols for Yemeni pilgrims.

According to the circular, authorized centers for medical samples, tests, and X-rays have been designated across several governorates:

  • National Central Public Health Laboratories: Located in Mukalla, Sayun, Marib, Shabwa, and Taiz.
  • National Center in the Interim Capital (Aden): For pilgrims from Aden, Lahj, and Abyan.
  • Al-Olaqi Laboratories: For pilgrims in the remaining governorates.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of all pilgrims conducting their medical exams exclusively at these approved centers, noting that the issuance of Hajj visas is strictly linked to a certificate of medical fitness. It further stressed that the deadline for completing these procedures is the 1st of Shaban 1447 AH.
