Yemeni-UN Talks to Enhance Humanitarian Efforts in the Country

The temporary Yemeni capital, Aden, witnessed a meeting today between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Shaya Al-Zindani, and the Special Envoy of the World Food Programme (WFP), Abdullah Bardat. The meeting was dedicated to exploring ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides on humanitarian files.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Zindani emphasized the important role played by the WFP in alleviating the severity of the humanitarian crisis. He affirmed the government’s desire to expand areas of coordination and benefit from the programmes and projects implemented by the WFP in alignment with the government’s own plans and priorities.

The two sides discussed mechanisms for enhancing the effectiveness of humanitarian interventions and ensuring their alignment with established humanitarian principles, in a way that contributes to improving living conditions in the country.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Muthanna Al-Amiri, Head of the Department of International Organizations and Conferences at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
