The U.S. strongly condemned the death sentences issued by the Houthi group against a number of Yemeni citizens, considering them unjust trials and a dangerous escalation.
The condemnation statement read that these unjust trials and convictions highlight once again that the Houthis can only govern through tactics of fear and intimidation.
The US also affirmed its condemnation of the arbitrary arrests committed by the Houthis and demanded the immediate and unconditional release of all United Nations staff, NGO personnel, and diplomatic mission members held in their custody.
