Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The Yemeni Rial maintained its stability in today’s transactions, recording exchange levels close to previous days, according to banking sources.
The price of the Saudi Riyal reached about 425 Yemeni Rials, while the US Dollar settled at 1617 Yemeni Rials without a noticeable change.
In areas controlled by the Houthi group, the Saudi Riyal remained fixed at about 140 Yemeni Rials, with the price of the dollar fluctuating between 535 and 540 Yemeni Rials, a result of banning the circulation of new prints of the local currency.
This relative stability comes amidst the market division between legitimate government areas and Houthi areas for years, which has led to a significant disparity in the value of the Yemeni Rial.
