Parties in Taiz Condemn Attempt to Target Governor, Express Confidence in Leadership’s Ability to Restore Security and Secure Roads

The political parties in Taiz Governorate issued a statement strongly condemning the criminal attempt that targeted the convoy of the Governor and the leadership of the Tor Al-Baha axis on Monday afternoon in the Najd Al-Bard area of Al-Maqatirah sub-district. They described it as a “treacherous crime” aimed at undermining security and stability in one of the most important roads used by thousands of citizens daily.

The parties confirmed that this heinous attack constitutes a direct threat to public tranquility and serves only the Houthis, as an action intended to destabilize and create chaos in the liberated areas.

The political parties expressed their confidence in the ability of the governorate leadership and the Tor Al-Baha axis to confront such sabotage acts with all firmness and take measures to protect citizens and secure public roads.

They emphasized in their statement the necessity of enhancing coordination between the local authority and the military institution, and working in unity and integration to resolve any obstacles that might affect security, thereby strengthening the governorate, its institutions, and its various components.

The parties concluded their statement by offering condolences to the families of the martyrs who died while performing their national duty, praying to God to envelop them in His vast mercy and grant them paradise, and to bestow upon the wounded a speedy recovery.

The political parties that signed the statement are: the General People’s Congress, the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, the Yemeni Rashad Union, the Peace and Development Party, the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party, the Union of Popular Forces, and the Justice and Building Party.

Earlier, the attempt to target the convoy of the Governor of Taiz while passing through the Najd Al-Bard area below Hayjat Al-Abd resulted in the death of five escorts, the death of two attackers, and the injury of two others with varying wounds.
