Taiz Signs Agreement to Restore and Rehabilitate Historic Homes and Landmarks

The Deputy Governor of Taiz for Technical Affairs, Engineer Moheeb Al-Hakimi, signed today an agreement to implement a project for the restoration and rehabilitation of historic landmarks and homes in the city, with joint funding from the European Union, UNESCO, and the Humanitarian Development Program.

According to Deputy Governor Al-Hakimi, the project aims to preserve the architectural heritage of Taiz City, including privately owned historic homes, while engaging youth in restoration work to provide job opportunities and strengthen the cultural identity of the governorate.

Mahboob Al-Jaradi, Director of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums in Taiz, explained that the project includes restoring historic homes, the Al-Sirajiyya Wall, and the Museum Complex Wall, in addition to carrying out archaeological surveying in the city of Mocha and completing the restoration of the Al-Shadhili Mosque.
