The Yemeni Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries, Salim Al-Suqatri, discussed today in Aden with a World Bank delegation, led by Nayef Abu Lahoum, the implementation of a group of agricultural and development projects scheduled to be launched soon.
The discussions included strategic projects such as Climatic and Agricultural Information Systems, in addition to the Wadi Hajar Basin Project in Hadramout and the Wadi Tuban Basin Project in Lahj, all of which aim to enhance food and water security in the targeted areas.
Al-Suqatri stressed the importance of these projects in supporting local communities and strengthening the capacities of government institutions, praising the World Bank’s efforts in supporting vital sectors and confronting the current economic and climate challenges.
For its part, the World Bank delegation emphasized the importance of transitioning from emergency projects to sustainable development initiatives, affirming continued support for the agriculture and fisheries sectors and the improvement of water resource management, to ensure a long-term impact on the resilience of local communities.
