Concluding Vocational Courses That Trained 200 Participants in Economic Empowerment in Marib

The Office of Social Affairs and Labor in Marib Governorate concluded specialized vocational training courses today, Sunday, for 200 beneficiaries (male and female) from the internally displaced and the most vulnerable families.
Dr. Abd Rabbu Meftah, the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, emphasized the importance of these training programs in helping the target groups acquire in-demand professions and crafts, thus achieving their economic empowerment.
Meftah explained that these steps aim to help families transition from relying on aid to self-reliance through production and integration into the labor market. He praised the effective role of the Productive Families Center in enhancing family skills, contributing to development, meeting the labor market’s needs, and improving the income level of the beneficiary families.
For his part, Abdulhakeem Al-Qaisi, Director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor, reviewed the outcomes of the training, which included 150 women in five specialized courses, in addition to 50 young men trained in two crafts. He clarified that the project was implemented by the Al-Khair Coalition for Relief and Humanitarian Works with funding from the World Food Programme (WFP).
Al-Qaisi indicated that the women’s courses included the crafts of sewing and embroidery, dairy and cheese making, incense and perfume making, leather bag making, and pastries. As for the young men, they received training in the crafts of weaving the ma’waz (a traditional garment) and auto mechanics.
