Yemen Monitor/ Marib/ Exclusive:
In a step that confirms the growing pivotal role of Marib governorate as an incubator for national political work and legitimacy, the National Tadhamon Party recently announced the formation of its branch in the governorate.
In an exclusive interview with “Yemen Monitor,” Eng. Adnan Al-Walass Bahibah, head of the party’s branch in Marib, shed light on this development, affirming that Marib has become a model of national partnership and a free political climate that encourages the practice of national work in “confronting the Houthi coup.”
Eng. Adnan Buhibeh, head of the National Tadhamon Party branch in Marib, told “Yemen Monitor” that the formation of the branch in the governorate represents a “qualitative addition” to the Yemeni political scene, especially in light of the pivotal role played by Marib as a center for legitimacy and freedom of expression.
Buhibeh explained that the party branch was formed on the fifteenth of this October, in the presence of the party’s acting head, Abdullah Al-Nu’mani, and its leadership structure included 24 figures from various districts of the governorate. This formation confirms the party leadership’s recognition of the importance of Marib as a “symbol of nationalism and sovereignty” after it has hosted state institutions and gathered more than three million Yemenis from various governorates and currents.
Buhibeh, who recently participated in a meeting of party branches in Marib, stressed that the growing political movement in the governorate reflects the success of political forces in confronting the difficult phase following the “2014 coup” and that these activities are not a “luxury in a time of war” but rather a tool of national resilience that extends to the political, intellectual, and media fields to defeat the coup.
He affirms that the political climate in Marib is characterized by freedom of opinion and expression, and encourages the practice of national work with a high spirit, and that the governorate has undertaken a pivotal role in various political, military, and national issues, and includes more than three million Yemenis from various governorates and currents. He adds that this is what the leadership of the Tadhamon Party realized and moved to form its branch in Marib, and he says that this represents a qualitative addition to the political scene, especially since the Tadhamon Party has a parliamentary bloc of 23 members, which is the third largest bloc after the Congress and Islah.
National Political Work
The head of the National Tadhamon Party branch in Marib believes that the growing political movement in Marib after the Houthi coup reflects the success of the partners in political work in confronting a difficult stage, as political forces contributed to the formation of the popular resistance and supported the army and security in confronting the Houthi coup.
He said: A fertile political environment and an incubator for partisan work has been embodied in Marib, and parties have emerged as a civilized face reflecting legitimate political pluralism.
The Party’s Vision in Marib
Buhibeh said that the National Tadhamon Party is distinguished by its good relations with the political forces in the trench of legitimacy, and its political program based on moderation and centrism, and establishing the branch in Marib enhances political work and embodies the consensus among political forces in the governorate.
He affirmed that the branch will be supportive of the local authorities, the army, security, and the resistance in the battle to restore the state, and to demand the rights of the people of Marib.
