The Yemeni men’s national football team achieved a sweeping victory over its Brunei counterpart with a score of nine goals to nil, in the matches of the fourth round of Group B in the qualifiers for the final stage of the AFC Asian Cup.
The Yemeni team showered the host’s net with a barrage of goals. Star player Nasser Mahmdouh shone by scoring five goals (a super hat-trick + one goal), while Omar Al Dahi scored two goals, and Abdulaziz Al Masnoum and Abdulmajeed Sabarah each scored one goal, completing the nine-goal clean festival.
With this major win, the Yemeni team raised its points tally to eight, maintaining the second position in the Group B standings, behind leaders Lebanon with ten points. Brunei is third with three points, and Bhutan is in the last position with one point.
The “Red Team” is preparing to continue its journey in the qualifiers. It will face the Bhutan national team on November 18 in the fifth round, before concluding its campaign with a match against Lebanon on March 31, 2026, a match that could be crucial for snatching a qualification spot.
