The city of Taiz hosted an extended women’s meeting this morning with broad female participation, representing all districts of the governorate, as well as female leaders from various Yemeni governorates. The significant event was organized by the Women’s Department of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance.

During the meeting, which was attended by the First Undersecretary of Taiz Governorate, Dr. Abdulqawi Al-Mikhlafi, and a number of military and security leaders, several speeches were delivered emphasizing the role of women and their struggle in the national battle.

The final statement of the extended meeting affirmed that women are essential partners in the Popular Resistance and the national project. It called for their empowerment in decision-making positions within state and societal institutions, and for documenting their experiences and sacrifices through media and education.

The statement demanded the launch of training and rehabilitation programs for women in liberated areas, the inclusion of all women’s components in the activities of the Women’s Department, the call for the trial of wanted security suspects, and the provision of protection for struggling women and victims of violations. It also stressed the importance of caring for the families of the martyrs, the wounded, and the abducted, and offering them all forms of support.

Furthermore, the participants signed a Charter of Honor to support the Popular Resistance, which stipulated respect for national interests, the protection of civilians and their rights, and the promotion of the values of integrity, loyalty, and solidarity. They explicitly disassociated themselves from anyone who violates these values or exploits the Resistance for personal gain, asserting their full support for the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance and the National Army in the battle to restore the state and end the Houthi coup.

In his speech delivered via video conference, Sheikh Hammoud Saeed Al-Mikhlafi, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Popular Resistance, stated that women in Taiz have played heroic roles during the years of confrontation with the Houthi militia, by supporting the fighters, maintaining the cohesion of the internal front, and engaging in military and security training and qualification. He emphasized his belief in the capacity of women in Taiz Governorate to contribute to improving the general situation and overcoming exceptional challenges.
