Al-Alimi: Hadramout is a Top Priority and Pursuing Al-Mashhari’s Killers is an Urgent Necessity

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, placed before the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission the government’s efforts to normalize conditions in Hadramout Governorate and meet its people’s legitimate demands for development and fair representation, stressing that the governorate’s stability is a national priority within the framework of comprehensive government reforms.
During the meeting, President Al-Alimi also addressed the assassination of Aftehan Al-Mashhari, Director of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in Taiz, affirming that her blood will not be shed in vain, and that security agencies are obliged to swiftly identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
He emphasized the need to turn this crime into a point of national consensus rejecting chaos, violence, and terrorism, while ensuring legal accountability—reflecting the state’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and preserving security and stability.
Al-Alimi explained that these efforts fall within the broader framework of strengthening the cohesion of state institutions and completing reforms to ensure the provision of services to citizens, create a safe environment for investment and development, and secure a decent life for the people of Hadramout and other regions.
For its part, the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission renewed its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in implementing reforms and strengthening national consensus. It affirmed its readiness to contribute to normalizing conditions and maintaining security across all governorates, including Hadramout and Taiz.
