Islah Party in Taiz Condemns Assassination of Cleanliness Fund Director, Calls for Pursuit of Perpetrators
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Yemeni Congregation for Reform (Islah) in Taiz on Thursday condemned the assassination of Aftehan Al-Mashhary, Director of the Cleanliness and Improvement Fund in the governorate, calling for the swift pursuit of those involved and their prosecution.
In a statement, the party said that Al-Mashhary’s killing was “a horrific crime that targeted the life of an innocent woman, and could only have been committed by someone stripped of religion, humanity, and honor.”
Islah Taiz urged the security services to accelerate efforts to track down the perpetrators, arrest them, and refer them to the judiciary to face deterrent punishment—stressing that this would serve as a warning to anyone attempting to tamper with the security and stability of society.
The statement also called on all political parties and civil society organizations to condemn this heinous crime and denounce its perpetrators, in order to strengthen community efforts to reject violence and terrorism in all its forms.
