Yemeni Government Directs Intensified Efforts to Address Storm Damage in Aden

Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Buraik on Tuesday directed intensified field efforts to address the damage caused by heavy rains in the interim capital, Aden, as a result of the recent weather depression, and to work on meeting the urgent needs of residents.

According to the official Yemeni News Agency, the Prime Minister is directly following up with the local authorities in Aden on the measures taken to deal with the storm’s aftermath. He held a phone call with Aden Governor and State Minister Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, who briefed him on the situation and the steps implemented to assess and address the damage.

Bin Buraik emphasized the priority of addressing human casualties, ensuring the continuity of basic services, reopening main and secondary roads, draining rainwater, and removing debris, stressing that these tasks must be completed urgently.

The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the local authorities in confronting the consequences of the weather depression, underscoring the importance of strengthening coordination between central and local levels and the need to activate community participation in supporting these efforts.

He also stressed the need to exercise the utmost caution and place the safety of citizens at the forefront of priorities when dealing with the storm’s impact.
