Hadramout Early Warning Center Warns of Atmospheric Instability

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The Early Warning Center for Disasters and Multi-Hazards in Hadramout governorate issued an important weather alert on Friday evening, numbered (1).

Recent weather analyses and numerical forecasts indicate that the governorate will be affected by a low-pressure system, which will cause unstable weather conditions starting Friday evening.

The peak of this unstable weather is expected to reach its height by the middle of next week, with rain falling during the afternoons, evenings, and early morning hours.

Large areas of Hadramout will be affected by the formation of thunderstorms and cumulonimbus clouds, including the deserts, valleys, and internal plateaus of Hadramout, extending to the coastal mountain highlands and rural areas.

The center explained that the rainfall will range from light and moderate to heavy in some areas, with the possibility of hail on the internal highlands and plateaus.

The center warned of the possibility of flash floods in valleys and streams, urging citizens to take precautions.

Recommendations included avoiding crossing valleys while water is flowing and staying away from lamp posts and electrical conductors during rainfall.

The center also alerted drivers to the reduced horizontal visibility due to rain and fog formation, emphasizing the need to follow safety instructions during thunderstorms and strong winds.
