Stability in Exchange Rates as Yemeni Rial Improves

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The exchange rates of foreign currencies against the Yemeni rial remained stable on Saturday at levels recorded in recent days.

According to banking sources, the Yemeni rial continues to improve in the interim capital, Aden, supported by interventions from the Central Bank. The U.S. dollar stood at around 1,600 rials, while the Saudi riyal remained stable at 428 rials. In Sana’a, under Houthi control, the U.S. dollar ranged between 530 and 600 rials.

Observers expect the national currency to continue its improvement over the coming week in Aden and other areas under the Yemeni government’s administration, with the Saudi riyal possibly dropping below 380 rials, despite potential fluctuations due to the current economic situation.
