Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The police in Wadi Hadramout and Al-Sahra have launched a security campaign targeting individuals involved in the black market currency trade. This effort is part of a broader push to stabilize the national currency and combat economic decline.
The campaign resulted in the arrest of three people who were found speculating on currency in various locations within the public market in the city of Seiyun. The arrests followed a thorough surveillance and monitoring operation by security forces.
The Seiyun district police have begun an investigation into the suspects and are preparing to refer them to the Public Prosecution in accordance with legal procedures.
The Wadi Hadramout police confirmed that their security campaigns will continue across different districts. They emphasized that they will take strict measures against violators and those who manipulate the exchange market by intensifying search and investigation operations.
Security authorities have called on citizens and merchants to adhere to legal transactions and to report any illegal activities that threaten economic stability, affirming that economic security is an integral part of public security.
