Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Member Al-Mahrami: Houthi Collapse Imminent, Combat Readiness a Top Priority

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, chaired an expanded meeting in Aden on Thursday with Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Sagheer bin Aziz and several senior Defense Ministry officials to discuss developments on the frontlines and the level of combat readiness.

Al-Mahrami asserted that the fall of the Houthis is imminent, calling for heightened preparedness, intensified training, and strict military discipline. He emphasized the need to secure border crossings and combat smuggling, reaffirming the Presidential Council’s full support for the armed forces in their battle to restore the state.

He stressed that the Yemeni Armed Forces are determined to reclaim state institutions and reestablish control over all Yemeni territory, and that both the Presidential Council and the government are fully committed to backing the military and overcoming challenges faced by fighters on the frontlines.

The meeting also addressed the importance of securing all border crossings, particularly by shutting down smuggling routes along  Al-Jawf Desert – Ramah – Khushm Al-Jabal corridor, which pose a direct threat to national security and stability.

In this regard, Al-Mahrami emphasized the need for integration between security and military institutions under a unified national strategy to ensure coordination of operations and information sharing—strengthening the state’s ability to safeguard its sovereignty and entrench security and stability across all areas liberated from Houthi control.
