Al-Mahra… Electronic Civil Registry System Launched to Facilitate Citizen Services and Combat Forgery

The First Undersecretary of Al-Mahra Governorate (eastern Yemen), Mukhtar bin Awadh Al-Jaafari, launched today the electronic civil registry system at the Civil Status and Civil Registry Authority branch in the governorate. The launch was attended by the Director General of the branch, Salem Mohammed Kalashat, and members of the technical committee assigned by the authority’s presidency.
During the launch event, Undersecretary Al-Jaafari stated that the introduction of the electronic civil registry system in Al-Mahra is a qualitative leap in organizing data and facilitating services for citizens. He noted that this step follows the launch of the smart card system, aiming to modernize the technical infrastructure of the Civil Status Authority in the governorate, enhance work efficiency, and contribute to reducing errors and forgery.
Al-Jaafari affirmed the full support of the local authority for the branch, and its assistance in developing institutional work. He praised the efforts made by the branch’s leadership and staff in issuing identity documents such as personal cards, birth certificates, death certificates, and marriage certificates, and in facilitating procedures for citizens with ease and smoothness.
For his part, Salem Kalashat, Director General of the authority’s branch in the governorate, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the local authority leadership for its continuous support. He explained that the new electronic system aims to achieve digital integration in all civil registry services and link the branches to the authority’s center in Aden via a unified and secure network, thereby enhancing completion speed and data security.
