SADA Condemns Incitement Campaigns Against Journalist Abduljabbar Al-Juriri and Demands His Protection

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
The National Organization of Yemeni Media Professionals “SADA” strongly condemned the incitement and smear campaigns targeting journalist Abduljabbar Awad Al-Juriri, which followed his recent media statements addressing the state of journalism and the growing violations against journalists in Yemen.
The organization stated that these campaigns go beyond direct defamation, including explicit threats to his safety and dignity. This, it noted, reflects a dangerous escalation in the hostile climate facing media professionals in the country, amid a clear absence of legal measures to ensure their protection.
SADA added that the continuation of such campaigns signals a decline in freedom of expression and opinion. It called on the relevant authorities to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities to halt these practices and to ensure a safe environment that allows journalists to carry out their work without fear of harassment or threats.
The organization expressed its support for the statement issued by the Journalists’ Syndicate, stressing the importance of providing full protection to Abduljabbar Al-Juriri and all media professionals, especially as violations continue to rise and threaten the future of independent journalism in Yemen.
