Yemeni Embassy in Malaysia Commemorates 35th Anniversary of Unity

The Yemeni Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, celebrated the 35th anniversary of Yemen’s National Unity Day, which falls on May 22. The symbolic ceremony featured the raising of the Yemeni flag and the performance of the national anthem at the embassy’s premises.

The celebration was attended by members of the diplomatic mission and a number of Yemenis residing in Malaysia, including residents, businesspeople, academics, students, and visitors.

In his speech during the event, Yemen’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr. Adel Mohamed Ba Humaid, highlighted the significance of this glorious occasion, which represents the realization of one of the Yemeni people’s greatest dreams and a primary objective of the historic September and October revolutions.

He praised the long journey of struggle Yemenis have undertaken over the decades to establish unity as a tangible reality, stressing the importance of preserving and strengthening this historic achievement in the face of current challenges.

Ambassador Ba Humaid also called for unity and overcoming divisions to confront the difficulties facing the country, aiming to secure a better future for coming generations and restore Yemen’s stature as a nation with a rich cultural heritage and promising resources. He stated: “Yemenis today must work hand in hand to make their homeland happy and prosperous once again, as it has been known throughout history.”
