“The Road to Socotra”: A New Novel Sheds Light on Aspects of Socotri Culture

The Socotri academic, Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri, said on Tuesday evening that he had received copies of his first novel, “The Road to Socotra,” after a period of waiting.

Al-Ameri expressed his deep gratitude to all those who supported the completion of this literary work, especially “Anaween Books” publishing house in Cairo, which undertook its publication.

He also thanked Dr. Fahd Salim Kafain, head of the Socotra Center for Human and Strategic Studies, and the administrative team of the center.

Al-Ameri continued his thanks to the former governor of the Socotra Archipelago, Ramzi Mahrous, Dr. Salah Mohammed Naji, Professor Ahmed Abbas, Mr. Issa Saad Issa Amer, Mr. Osama Rashed Saeed Hadeed, and all those who provided technical and logistical support.

Al-Ameri pointed out the importance of young people investing their time in writing about cultural and literary heritage.

The Novel “The Road to Socotra” Receives Wide Acclaim

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaili praised the novel “The Road to Socotra,” describing it as an enjoyable and captivating literary work.

Al-Rumaili explained that the novel, despite being the author’s first work, takes the reader on a creative journey full of imagination and beauty.

Al-Rumaili mentioned that the novel provides a comprehensive picture of the Socotri people, including their life at sea and on land, their customs, traditions, and laws, and their good qualities of kindness, nobility, generosity, and chivalry.

Al-Rumaili concluded by congratulating Dr. Ahmed Al-Ameri on this distinguished literary work.
