Mass Demonstration in Marib in Solidarity with Gaza Amid Calls for International Action

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Thousands of Yemenis took to the streets in a large popular march after Friday prayers in Al-Hurriya Square in Marib city, eastern Yemen, to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and to condemn the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The demonstration came in response to the recent military escalation in the Strip, with protesters carrying banners denouncing the Israeli bombing and demanding that the international community take urgent action to stop the war and protect innocent civilians.

Participants affirmed their rejection of Arab and international silence towards what they described as “war crimes” targeting Palestinians, calling on Arab and Islamic governments to bear their responsibilities and exert pressure to stop the aggression.

Speakers in the march also praised the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the occupation, considering their resistance a model of dignity and liberation, and pledged to continue supporting the Palestinian cause until it achieves freedom and justice.

The demonstration witnessed an emphasis on the necessity of taking practical steps to end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza, while holding “Israel” fully responsible for the ongoing violations.
