Five Deputy Ministers Appointed in Yemeni Government by Presidential Decree

The Head of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, issued a presidential decree on Thursday appointing five new deputy ministers across several ministries.

According to the official Yemeni News Agency, the appointments were made based on the constitution, applicable laws, and the references of the transitional phase.

The list of appointments includes:

Prof. Saad Mohammed Saad Mohammed as Deputy Minister of Justice

Dr. Mohammed Saree’ Ali Basardah as Deputy Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights

Mujahid Abu Shawarb Issa bin Afrar as Deputy Minister of Water and Environment

Anwar Ali Yahya Hassan Al-Omari as Deputy Minister of Endowments and Guidance

Moeen Mahmoud Saleh Ahmed as Deputy Minister of Local Administration

The decree stipulates that it shall come into effect from the date of its issuance and will be published in the official gazette.

These appointments come just days after the naming of a new prime minister to succeed the outgoing Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak.
