Houthi Leader: We Did Not Appeal for US to Stop Bombing, and We Are Ready for Escalation

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Abdul Malik al-Houthi, the leader of the Houthi group, denied US President Donald Trump’s claims that they had requested a halt to airstrikes against them, stressing the group’s readiness for escalation at any moment.

In a televised speech, al-Houthi affirmed that any agreement with Washington was reached through Omani mediation and did not change the group’s stance in support of the Palestinian resistance.

Al-Houthi described Trump’s statements as “clowning around,” emphasizing that supporting Gaza is a priority that cannot be abandoned.

He pointed to the continuation of their military operations, including targeting ships and Israel, despite the intensive US and Israeli air campaigns.

Al-Houthi revealed the execution of 131 attacks using 235 missiles and drones, targeting sensitive locations such as Ben Gurion Airport, which caused disruption to air traffic.

He also confirmed the downing of US drones, considering that the US strikes had failed to break the group’s will or stop its support for Palestine.
