New U.S. Airstrikes Target Houthi Positions in Eastern and Western Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

On Saturday evening, U.S. warplanes carried out new airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in the provinces of Marib (east) and Al-Hodaidah (west Yemen).

Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV reported that U.S. strikes hit Kamaran Island with two air raids and also targeted Al-Salif District in Al-Hodaidah with another strike.

Later, the channel reported that US warplanes launched six additional airstrikes on Madghal District in Marib Province (east).

The Pentagon announced on Wednesday that U.S. forces have struck over 1,000 targets in Yemen since the beginning of their air campaign against the Houthi Ansar Allah movement in mid-March.

Since mid-March, military operations between the US and the Houthis have escalated following the Houthi declaration to resume their ban on Israeli ships passing through the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

Since then, U.S. forces have launched hundreds of airstrikes on Yemen, resulting in hundreds of casualties, most of them women and children, according to Houthi reports.
