New U.S. Airstrikes Target Houthi Positions West of Taiz

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
U.S. fighter jets carried out new airstrikes today, Sunday, targeting alleged Houthi positions in Taiz province, southwest Yemen.
Local sources reported that U.S. warplanes launched several airstrikes against Houthi sites in Maqbanah District, west of Taiz province.
According to the sources, the U.S. airstrikes hit more than six locations in the villages of Al-Madrouba, Al-Muwaijm, and in Maqbanah District.
The sources also noted that strikes targeted a military camp near Al-Barh Cement Factory, west of Taiz province.
On Saturday evening, Houthi-affiliated media reported that U.S. warplanes carried out around 20 airstrikes within a short period on sites in the provinces of Sana’a, Al-Mahwit, Marib, Saada, and Al-Hudaidah.
A week earlier, nearly 80 people were killed in U.S. airstrikes on Ras Issa port in Al-Hudaidah, while dozens were also killed in Sana’a. The growing civilian casualties have prompted members of the U.S. Congress to demand an explanation from President Donald Trump’s administration.
The military campaign against the Houthis began in mid-March, ordered by President Trump, citing the need to halt Houthi threats to the freedom of navigation in the region’s waterways.
