Yemen Monitor / Special Report:
The U.S. Air Force launched a series of intensive airstrikes on multiple locations across Yemen, targeting the capital, Sanaa, and four other provinces, in a significant escalation of the ongoing military operation against the Iran-backed Houthi group.
In the capital, Sana’a, the airstrikes targeted the Al-Rawda residential neighborhood in Bani Al-Harith District and an area near Lebanon Hospital in Al-Sabeen District, injuring eight civilians, including two children, according to the Houthi-run Ministry of Health.
The airstrikes also extended to Saada Province (the main stronghold of the group’s leader), with four strikes carried out on Kitaf District and three additional strikes around the city. The attacks further targeted Ras Issa Port in Al-Salif District of Hodaidah Province, as well as Kamaran Island.
In Al-Jawf Province (north), four airstrikes hit Al-Anan District, while other strikes targeted Madghal District in Marib Province (east).
These airstrikes come as part of a broader military campaign led by the US since mid-March 2025, aimed at undermining the Houthis’ military capabilities and deterring their attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait.
