Electricity Disappears in Aden: 20 Hours of Daily Outages Amid Lack of Solutions and Worsening Crisis

Yemen Monitor / Aden / Exclusive:
The interim capital of Yemen, Aden, is witnessing an unprecedented deterioration in electricity services, with power outages now reaching up to 20 hours per day. This has significantly worsened the suffering of residents amid rising temperatures and a decline in basic services.
Residents from several districts across the city confirmed that electricity is now only available intermittently, with supply periods not exceeding four hours a day, raising fears that the situation may deteriorate further as the fuel crisis needed to operate power stations persists.
The Public Electricity Corporation announced on Friday that the Presidential Power Plant has gone offline, and all diesel-powered generation stations are currently shut down due to the unavailability of the necessary fuel supplies.
It also warned that Al-Mansoura Power Plant would not be able to continue operating for more than three days without an urgent supply of mazut (fuel oil), signaling an imminent total blackout.
