Yemeni Presidential Council Member Lt. Gen. Al-Subaihi: Aden’s Stability Is the Key to Decisive Victory and State Restoration

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Member Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Al-Subaihi affirmed that the security and stability of the temporary capital Aden constitute the cornerstone in the battle to fully restore state institutions and end the Iran-backed Houthi coup, stressing that any disruption in Aden directly affects the overall national situation.

Al-Subaihi’s remarks came during a meeting held at Maashiq Palace in Aden, attended by the government headed by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaya Mohsen Al-Zindani. The meeting reviewed developments in service and security conditions in Aden and other liberated governorates, as well as the government’s responsibilities in addressing current challenges.

He called for raising the level of readiness and vigilance during the current phase, emphasizing the need to confront any attempts to destabilize security or target state institutions, and to block any actions that could disrupt the general situation.

Al-Subaihi stressed the importance of the government’s on-the-ground presence, noting that officials’ proximity to citizens and direct listening to their concerns is the quickest way to address imbalances and improve services, rather than managing affairs solely from offices.

He also urged local authorities to fully assume their responsibilities, intensify oversight, and enhance performance in service sectors in order to alleviate citizens’ suffering and strengthen their trust in state institutions.

For his part, the Prime Minister expressed the government’s appreciation for Al-Subaihi’s role at this stage, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening its presence on the ground, mobilizing available resources to improve living conditions, and working in a spirit of teamwork to overcome challenges.

Earlier, the Cabinet held its first meeting in the temporary capital Aden since the government’s formation and swearing-in, chaired by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Shaya Mohsen Al-Zindani, in a step reflecting the government’s commitment to operating from within the country and consolidating its field presence, with the stipulation that no member remain abroad except under defined conditions.

The Prime Minister also affirmed that the government is adopting the directives of Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi to present a different performance model based on clear executive plans, specific timelines, and measurable performance indicators, contributing to restoring public confidence and enhancing the efficiency of state institutions.
