UAE Calls on Yemeni Parties to “Prioritize Dialogue” and Halt Escalation

The United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its commitment to Yemen’s security, stability, and prosperity, calling for dialogue to take precedence over confrontation and for differences among Yemenis to be resolved through understanding and consensus.
The UAE said it is following recent developments in Yemen with deep concern, expressing regret over the ongoing escalation and urging Yemenis to exercise wisdom and self-restraint, and to work toward maintaining security and stability in the country.
In a statement published by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE said:
“The United Arab Emirates, stemming from its steadfast commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of Yemen and the region, emphasizes the importance of halting escalation, prioritizing the language of dialogue over confrontation, and addressing existing differences among Yemeni brothers through understanding and consensus on sustainable political solutions, via a rational and responsible approach that places the interests of the nation and its people above all else, and gives priority to reconstruction, stability, and prosperity.”
The statement continued:
“The United Arab Emirates affirms that de-escalation and dialogue represent the optimal path to overcoming the current challenges, contributing to the consolidation of stability in Yemen and the region, and to fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples for security and prosperity.”
