Hadramawt Governor Issues Urgent National Appeal to Protect Public and Private Property in Mukalla

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Governor of Hadramawt and Chairman of the Security Committee, Mr. Salem Ahmed al-Khanbashi, issued an urgent national appeal today to all citizens of the governorate, led by the residents of the city of Mukalla. He urged them to ensure the total preservation of public and private property, describing these assets as historical achievements that belong solely to the people of Hadramawt.
In his address, Governor al-Khanbashi emphasized that the achievements and service facilities are the fruit of the efforts and toil of the governorate’s people, stressing that any tampering with them or loss of their resources represents a direct loss for every household in Hadramawt. He explained that protecting these gains under the current circumstances is a religious and national duty that falls upon everyone.
The Governor called for a unified effort among various leadership segments of society, directing his message to members of the security and military apparatus, prominent scholars, social figures, and dignitaries, as well as the heads and members of community committees and neighborhood leaders.
He urged them to exercise their leadership roles by prioritizing the language of reason and public interest. He also called for intensive work to raise awareness among citizens on the necessity of confronting any vandals or infiltrators who might attempt to exploit current conditions to incite chaos or attack service facilities.
The Governor of Hadramawt concluded his statement by asserting that the security of the governorate is a “trust placed in everyone’s hands,” noting that close popular cooperation with security agencies represents the only guarantee to thwart those lurking and seeking to undermine the region’s security and stability. He renewed his confidence in the awareness of the people of Hadramawt, affirming that the governorate will remain a model of civility and tolerance that rejects any harm to national resources or citizens’ property.
