Saudi Airstrikes Near Nahb Camp in Hadramawt Following STC Military Movements

Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:
Saudi aircraft carried out airstrikes on Friday morning targeting various locations around Nahb camp in the Ghayl Bin Yamin district of Hadramawt province. This came after field movements by forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in the area.
Local sources reported that the airstrikes did not result in casualties, indicating they were part of warning messages aimed at containing escalation and pressuring a halt to the field advances witnessed in the region in recent days.
In a statement, the STC asserted that its forces’ movements were motivated by confronting security threats, primarily from terrorist groups and smuggling operations. The Council claimed the objective of these movements was to support security, stability, and protect public institutions.
The Council emphasized its openness to any coordination or arrangements that ensure the preservation of security and stability, taking into account mutual interests with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It stressed the importance of preventing the return of any security threats in the region.
The statement also expressed surprise at the airstrikes targeting what it described as positions belonging to the Hadrami Elite Forces, considering that such steps could negatively impact de-escalation and understanding tracks.
For its part, the Second Military Zone of the STC stated that Saudi aircraft conducted strikes on two occasions this morning, at 8:00 AM and 9:15 AM Aden time, targeting positions of the Hadrami Elite Forces, including the Nahb camp, after it had been controlled and secured.
The statement from the Second Military Zone claimed that this development raises concerns about its repercussions on efforts to confront terrorism, smuggling operations, and organized crime in Wadi Hadramawt and neighboring areas.
