Kuwait expressed its close follow-up of developments in the Republic of Yemen, affirming its full support for all efforts aimed at enhancing security, stability, and advancing peace opportunities in the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the importance of coordinating international and regional efforts and working jointly to de-escalate tensions and foster a positive political atmosphere based on dialogue and understanding. This, the statement noted, would contribute to addressing existing challenges, preserving Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, meeting the aspirations of its people for a secure and stable future, and ending their ongoing suffering.
Kuwait reiterated its supportive stance towards regional efforts carried out in cooperation with brothers, appreciating the role undertaken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in consolidating the ceasefire, advancing the political track, and ultimately reaching a comprehensive and sustainable solution that achieves the desired stability in Yemen.
The statement affirmed that achieving lasting peace requires concerted efforts and prioritizing dialogue, which enhances opportunities for reaching a political settlement that preserves Yemen’s unity, security, and stability.
This statement comes as the STC began an incursion into the strongholds of the Hadramowt Tribal Alliance in the center of the oil-rich province in southeastern Yemen, after mobilizing forces from several regions. This move follows a warning issued by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the dangers of unilateral military movements in the Hadramowt and Al-Mahra governorates.
