Young Man Dies After Succumbing to Injuries Sustained from STC-Affiliated Security Support Forces in Hadramout

Young man Maqtouf Salmeen Maqtouf Al-Aliy died last Sunday evening, succumbing to severe injuries he sustained at the hands of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s (STC) “Security Support” forces, led by Abu Ali Al-Hadrami. The incident occurred during a security operation on November 12th in Hadramout (eastern Yemen).

Local sources told “Yemen Monitor” that the young man, Maqtouf, was shot during a security raid carried out by the Security Support Forces in the Al-Akkad area, north of Mukalla, on November 12th, and was severely wounded along with two other individuals.

The sources explained that the young man was transferred to Al-Burj Hospital in Mukalla city and had been hospitalized there since his injury approximately ten days ago. His health sharply deteriorated after his leg was amputated, ultimately leading to his death.

In a related context, journalist Abduljabbar Bajabir wrote on his page that the STC’s Security Support Forces had abducted the young man “Maqtouf” along with 16 other young men from the Ghayl Bin Yameen district, noting that they were subjected to “brutal torture.”

Bajabir described the crime as one that “shakes Hadramout and reveals the extent of the violations perpetrated by these forces,” asserting that they are “not subject to the Second Military District nor the Hadrami Elite Forces,” and referring to them as the “Security Support Militia.”
