Houthi Group Announces Death of “Al-Ghumari,” Chief of Staff of Their Forces

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

The Houthi group announced on Thursday the death of the Chief of Staff of their forces, Mohammed Abdulkarim Al-Ghumari, in the US-Israeli airstrikes that targeted their forces over the past two years.

Al-Ghumari is believed to have been killed in the bombardment that targeted Sanaa and killed members of their affiliated government in late August last year.

Observers believe that the group’s acknowledgment of Al-Ghumari’s death, who is described as the top military figure in the armed group, paves the way for announcing the rest of the military and security leaders killed over the past two years.

The announcement of Al-Ghumari’s death comes just before a speech by the Houthi leader, which the group’s media describes as important and in which he is likely to announce the end of the group’s operations in the sea, one week after the stop of the Gaza war.
