Intensive Campaign Launched to Crack Down on Price Violators in Marib

Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:

The Industry and Trade Office in Marib District has launched a wide-scale campaign targeting commercial establishments found violating official pricing regulations.

The campaign resulted in the inspection and penalization of 62 commercial outlets, including wholesale and retail stores, found guilty of raising prices and manipulating price lists.

The office stated that the owners of the violating shops have been referred to prison pending legal action.

Officials affirmed that the campaign is ongoing and will not stop, stressing that strict measures will be taken against anyone who seeks to exploit citizens by tampering with basic commodities.

The office urged merchants to adhere to the officially set prices, especially with the improvement in the local currency’s value, and to avoid fraud and monopolistic practices. It warned that severe penalties will be imposed on violators.

The list of offending businesses includes 62 outlets, such as Al-Salahi and Al-Mahdi Trading Stores, Amin Qassem Establishment, Al-Jabri Stores, Hunt Commercial Market, among others.

This campaign comes as part of the Industry and Trade Office’s broader efforts to regulate the market and prevent price manipulation.
