Yemen Condemns “Iranian Aggression” on Qatar, Affirms Full Support for Doha

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

On Monday evening, Yemen’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned what it described as the “blatant Iranian aggression” targeting the State of Qatar, calling it a flagrant violation of Qatari sovereignty and airspace, as well as a clear breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.

In an official statement, the ministry said, “This dangerous escalation clearly reflects the aggressive and chaotic nature of the Iranian regime and its ongoing efforts to drag the region into turmoil and instability by creating crises and fueling regional tensions.”

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Yemen’s full solidarity with Qatar and its readiness to mobilize all available resources to support its brothers in Doha. It also expressed its absolute support for any measures Qatar takes to defend its security, sovereignty, and stability.

On Monday, Qatari air defenses intercepted a missile attack launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targeting Al-Udeid Air Base, which houses the U.S. Central Command.

Qatar condemned the attack and sent a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and members of the UN Security Council demanding condemnation of the strike. The incident drew widespread support for Doha from Gulf countries and many nations around the world.

Earlier today, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Iranian Ambassador to Doha, Ali Saleh Abadi, to protest the missile strike by the IRGC, labeling it a gross violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as international law and the UN Charter.
