200 Yemeni Organizations Condemn Iranian Attacks and Affirm Support for Gulf Security
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Nearly 200 Yemeni civil society organizations and institutions condemned what they described as “repeated Iranian aggressions” targeting the security and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, noting the use of missiles and drones to target civilian facilities and vital infrastructure.
A statement issued by the organizations during a press conference held in Marib Governorate said that these attacks represent an extension of what they considered “direct Iranian targeting of Yemen,” emphasizing that Tehran’s escalation against Gulf states—led by Saudi Arabia—threatens regional security as a whole.
The statement described Saudi Arabia as a fundamental pillar in supporting Yemen, stressing that such attacks will not affect the position of Yemenis supporting Riyadh’s role, but will instead strengthen their commitment to the partnership with Saudi Arabia and the rest of the Gulf states in facing threats.
The organizations called on the international community and the United Nations to take firm measures to stop these attacks, based on the rules of international humanitarian law which criminalize targeting civilians and violating the sovereignty of states.
They confirmed that issuing the statement in both Arabic and English from Marib reflects a unified message: that Yemenis stand alongside the Gulf states and Jordan, and support efforts aimed at protecting security and stability in the region.
