Yemeni President Warns of The Risks of Maintaining Iranian Proxies In The Region

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, discussed today in Riyadh with the U.S. Ambassador, Steven Fagin, joint coordination to address security threats, secure international navigation, and the types of support required for the Yemeni government.
The Chairman warned that the current de-escalation following the defeat of the Iranian regime could lead to the repositioning of its militias and their use as a pressure tool to buy time and improve its negotiating conditions.
The meeting also addressed the government’s efforts in financial and administrative reforms, and work to mitigate the impact of regional developments on living conditions.
The Chairman further noted that groups linked to Iranian ideology pose a threat to the region and the world, and will not change their aggressive behavior or consider the interests of their peoples.
Al-Alimi praised Saudi Arabia’s support and its positions alongside the Yemeni people and their political leadership throughout various stages and circumstances.
