Islah Party Leader Injured and Three of His Bodyguards Killed in Assassination Attempt in Marib

A leader in the Islah Party was seriously injured on Wednesday after being targeted in an assassination attempt carried out by unknown gunmen in Al-Wadi district, east of the city of Marib.
Local sources said that armed men intercepted the vehicle carrying the leader, Adel Al-Rouhani, and opened heavy fire on it before fleeing to an unknown location.
According to the sources, the attack resulted in the killing of three individuals who were accompanying Al-Rouhani, while he sustained serious injuries to his jaw and shoulder. He was transferred to the intensive care unit at a hospital in the city to receive treatment.
Al-Rouhani is a member of the General Secretariat of the Islah Party and has been residing in Marib since leaving the capital, Sana’a, in 2015.
