“STC” Headquarters Re-closed a Day After “Stealth” Entry in Aden
Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
Aden authorities have closed, for the second time, a building that the Southern Transitional Council (declared dissolved) was using as headquarters for the so-called General Secretariat of the Council’s Presidium, located in the Tawahi district, a day after loyalists entered it “stealthily” and held a public meeting inside.
The official STC website published a statement mentioning that authorities closed the building of the General Secretariat of the Southern Transitional Council’s Presidium (dissolved) and used “oxygen welding,” reflecting its permanent closure to ensure it is not used or stormed again.
Yesterday, Sunday, the official STC website reported that its loyalists broke the decision to close the building and held a meeting of the so-called General Secretariat, chaired by Dr. Khaled Bamadhaf, the Acting Deputy Secretary-General.
Media outlets circulated reports of the “STC General Secretariat” in Aden resuming its work, only for authorities to re-close and “weld” it hours later, indicating that the entry had been clandestine.
